Pokémon fans swarmed the Amsterdam Van Gogh Museum for a special Pikachu card

On September 28, a special Pikachu card of the Pokémon TCG went on sale exclusively at the Van Gogh Museum of Amsterdam. Being exclusive to this location, this Pokémon card of a Pikachu with a hat mimicking one of Van Gogh’s self-portraits would reach astronomical levels in buying and selling sites, which is why quite a few speculators went to the museum and took out the entire stock.

As The Pokémon Company told via press release, the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam in the Netherlands celebrated its 50th anniversary with an official collaboration with Pokémon. In addition to cultural activities to introduce the younger audience to Van Gogh’s work, as part of this collaboration a Pikachu card of the franchise’s TCG was printed based on the ‘Self-portrait with gray felt hat’ from 1887 by the painter.

Well, neither slow nor lazy, speculators staged regrettable scenes in the museum, since everyone wanted to get a card to resell it. In a video clip uploaded to Twitter/X by @CentroPokemon we can see people in the museum fighting to acquire as many Pikachu cards as possible before everyone else:
