Pokémon Home will support Scarlet and Violet soon: what can you expect?
Trainers will finally be able to enjoy Pokémon Home with the 9th generation of the series, Scarlet and Violet, very soon.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are the latest installments to be added to the Pokémon Home catalog. The cloud service will allow you to transfer your boxes from the ninth generation to the rest of the supported games, and vice versa. Compatibility is planned for May 23, 2023, at 6:00 PM PDT as part of the 3.0.0 update.
All integration details
There are certain limitations. You will not be able to take a Pokémon from the regional Paldea Pokédex to another title. For example, Dolliv cannot carry over to Pokémon Sword and Shield. What you can move are Pokémon that appear in both games. This is the case with Pikachu, a true classic that you can move without restrictions. On the other hand, the Tera Type of Pokémon that are transferred to Pokémon Scarlet and Purple from other games “will be determined by their original type or types.”
When you connect your game and make the first transfer from Pokémon Scarlet and Violet you will receive a very special gift. You will receive a Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly “with Hidden Abilities” as a mystery gift in the mobile version of Pokémon Home. If you are a Pokémon GO player you can also transfer your Roaming Form Gimmighoul to Paldea.
Among other features of the update, the possibility of exchanging your Pokémon Home points for LP (League Points) is included to use them on Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. It also includes the possibility of modifying the data screen of a Pokémon so that the information of what other titles it has been in appears.
Finally, when you move a Pokémon from Pokémon Home to another game, you will be able to change the moves it knows from a list of moves it has learned up to that point. Again, there are limitations: only moves that can be learned in Pokémon Sword and Shield are included, as well as Pokémon Shiny Diamond and Shimmering Pearl, Pokémon Legends: Arceus and Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
