Pokémon Unite Celebrates Third Anniversary with the Arrival of Ho-Oh

The MOBA ‘Pokémon Unite’ continues to receive updates, and now, on the eve of its third anniversary, The Pokémon Company has announced the new content the game will receive as part of the celebrations.

Ho-Oh arrives from the sky, and new events take place

One of the legendary second-generation Pokémon, Ho-Oh, joins the game’s roster of characters. A trailer shows the abilities he arrives with: he is a ranged, defensive character with a difficulty level designed for newcomers. His abilities include Regeneration, which allows him to gradually recover HP as long as he is not taking damage, and Fly, which allows him to soar above certain walls and deal damage to nearby enemies as he descends. Another notable ability is Rekindling Flame, which allows him to use Æos energy to bring an ally back to the battlefield.

As for events, we will have the following:

  • Ho-Oh Commemorative Event - From July 18 to August 10, Trainers will receive a free die each day that will allow them to advance one space on the board and complete the corresponding mission.
  • Custodial Battles - From July 18 to September 3, the exciting game mode of defending Tinkaton from the attacks of wild Pokémon is back.
  • Charizard Unite License Giveaway - From July 18 to September 1, registered users can receive a Charizard Trainer hat, Charizard Unite license, or 100 Æos coins.
  • New Combat Pass - From July 20 through September 3, users will have access to this new Black Flame-inspired Combat Pass to celebrate the game’s anniversary.

The road to the 2024 Pokémon World Championships

We are just a few weeks away from the start of the 2024 Pokémon World Championships in Honolulu, Hawai’i. From August 16-18, the best players of Pokémon Trading Card Game, Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, Pokémon Unite, and Pokémon GO will gather at the Hawai’i Convention Center to determine who is the best at these games. After two years out of the United States, taking the experience to London and Yokohama, it is time for Hawaii to dress up and host this competition for the first time in 12 years. In addition to the tournament, we expect more news from the franchise.
