Pokémon World Championships Announces 2025 and 2026 Venues
See you in California!
The 2024 Pokémon World Championships is already in the history books, with a new crop of Trainers who proved to be the best. As Honolulu says goodbye, The Pokémon Company is already looking ahead to the 2025 and 2026 editions of the tournament.
Find out the new Pokémon World Championships locations
During the closing ceremony, it was announced that the next Pokémon World Championships will once again be held in the United States, specifically in the state of California. The 2025 event will be held in Anaheim, CA, just steps away from Disneyland, at the Anaheim Convention Center from August 15-17. The 2026 version will be held in San Francisco at the Chase Center from August 28-30.
It should be noted that the location of the 2026 Pokémon World Championships was leaked a few months ago through documents from the Chase Center itself. Despite this slip, it’s also worth remembering that this release will be very important for Pokémon as a brand, as it represents the 30th anniversary of the franchise, the 10th anniversary of Pokémon GO, the 5th anniversary of Pokémon Unite, and the 20th Pokémon World Championships, so we can only hope that it will be a very special moment for both The Pokémon Company and its fans.
In its 20-year history, the Pokémon World Championship has been held in the United States most of the time, with the exception of the 2022 event in London, England, and the 2023 event in Yokohama, Japan. Will we see the tournament leave the United States again in 2027? We will have to wait a long time to know the answer.
