Update:

February 2026 will be a special month for Pokémon fans. Thirty years of a franchise is easy to say, and everything indicates that The Pokémon Company is ready to celebrate in style. And what better way to do so than with an announcement during the upcoming Super Bowl LX?

The commercial will premiere on February 8, paying tribute to fans who have been following the pocket monsters for three decades. “The Pokémon community has been the foundation and inspiration for the brand since the very beginning, and the passion of our fans is what has allowed Pokémon to have a lasting impact on pop culture around the world and across generations,” said Kenji Okubo, president at The Pokémon Company International. “As we look to the next 30 years and beyond, we invite Trainers to join in celebrating this landmark milestone, starting with Super Bowl LX, where they’ll see themselves and their fandom reflected in unexpected ways.”

Alongside this announcement, the Pokémon Center store also unveiled its 30th anniversary line, featuring accessories for the Trading Card Game and clothing bearing this year’s logo.

2026: The Year of Pokémon

This year is packed with Pokémon. A few days ago, we visited PokéPark Kanto, a permanent attraction at Yomiuriland amusement park in Inagi, Japan. It was a place that surprised our Vladimir Arteaga, who wrote: “Beyond the nostalgia, the best thing is the level of immersion. Unlike other parks where you’re just a spectator, here you become part of the world. Integration with an official app will allow you to manage your time, participate in events, and collect digital memories as you walk. To say that every step is full of nostalgia, surprises, and discoveries for fans of the series is an understatement.”
