PlayStation

PS Portal now lets you play games without your PS5: How the new feature works

PlayStation Plus Premium users have access to a catalog of 120 games.

PS Portal

It’s been a long time coming, but it’s finally here. PS Portal, PlayStation’s remote play device, will no longer require the PS5 to run the console’s games on the device. This feature, which is currently in beta, will only be available to PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers, the company confirmed in an official statement. Through streaming, it will be possible to enjoy a catalog of 120 PS5 games, including Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Ghost of Tsushima or Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. It is currently not compatible with previous generation titles, although this may change.

During the beta, games will run at 1080p/60 FPS, but features such as game trials, streaming of PS Store purchases, the Create button, 3D audio, in-game stores, group voice chat, and game invitations will not work on certain products. Special features of the DualSense controller (haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, speakers, motion sensor, etc.) will work. PlayStation Plus cloud storage will also be active (100GB total).
