PSA: Beware of spoilers for 007: First Light—the Indonesian Game Rating Board has leaked key details

The James Bond origin game joins several major titles affected by the same breach.

Update:

007: First Light is the next James Bond video game, which will feature an origin story for the world’s most famous secret agent. Although the developers have kept many details under wraps ahead of its May release, spoilers for this adventure are already circulating online.

According to VGC, some story spoilers are already circulating online due to a security flaw in the Indonesian Game Rating System. Some of these details include the game’s ending. IO Interactive’s game isn’t the only one affected by this leak, as Bandai Namco’s Echoes of Aincrad, Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag, and Konami’s Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse are also included in these leaks. Unfortunately, both 007: First Light and Echoes of Aincrad already have cutscenes circulating on social media.

The upcoming, first James Bond adventure

007: First Light is IO Interactive’s first attempt to bring James Bond to video games, telling the origin story of James Bond as a secret agent. The title, unveiled in the middle of last year, blends gameplay reminiscent of the studio’s hit, Hitman, as well as the action of Uncharted. The game aims to take the secret agent into a title that isn’t just a shooter—as we’ve come to expect—but one where infiltration, decision-making, and investigation are integral parts of the gameplay.

During the 2025 Game Awards ceremony, the latest details about the game were revealed, including the news that musician Lenny Kravitz would be playing the villain in the story. Although the game was originally set for release on March 27, it was announced late last year that the launch would be delayed by a couple of months, with the new release date now set for May 27 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The Nintendo Switch 2 version will arrive later.
