Ralph Fiennes has a favorite casting for Voldemort in the upcoming Harry Potter series
While he admits to not being opposed to returning to the role, Ralph Fiennes also has someone in mind who could play Voldemort in HBO’s Harry Potter series.
There is no doubt that the Harry Potter series based on the books is one of the most anticipated productions in the coming years, and the rumor mill around its protagonists will not stop until they are officially confirmed. Ralph Fiennes, who took on the role of the evil Voldemort in the adaptations for the big screen, has been asked about one of the names that are likely to succeed him in the role of the villain, and he has no doubt: he approves with flying colors.
The actor in question has a long and successful career and is a recent winner of the Oscar for Best Actor for ‘Oppenheimer’. We are talking, of course, about Cillian Murphy, who is also currently filming ‘28 Years Later’, the new installment of the post-apocalyptic saga that made him famous and whose filming he shares with Fiennes himself, as well as the ‘Peaky Blinders’ movie, where he will once again play the charismatic Thomas Shelby.
“Cillian is a fantastic actor, this is a wonderful suggestion. Yes, I would be in favor of Cillian,” admitted Fiennes, who, by the way, aspires to succeed Murphy as an Oscar winner for being one of the favorites thanks to his role in ‘The Conclave’. Despite the praise, Fiennes made it clear some time ago that he would also have no problem playing Voldemort himself in the television series.
Cillian Murphy is one of the biggest actors of the moment, and to the productions mentioned above, he adds a long list of successes. After rising to fame with ‘28 Days Later’, he would go on to participate in highly acclaimed films such as ‘The Girl with the Pearl Earring’, Christopher Nolan’s ‘Batman’ saga, where he played Scarecrow, ‘Inception’, ‘Dunkirk’ -both also with Nolan-, and ‘A quiet place 2′.
