Removing Meta AI from WhatsApp: Is it possible?

It’s been almost a year since users in America began using Meta AI on the company’s social networks, particularly WhatsApp and Instagram. Now, with its arrival in Europe following the approval of a legal framework on the continent, doubts have reappeared about this tool that uses artificial intelligence to answer questions, converse, and even edit photos.
But beyond what Meta AI can do for users, many wonder how much it can do with our conversations... and whether there’s a way to eliminate the tool altogether.
Is it possible to delete Meta AI from WhatsApp?
The short answer is: No, you cannot completely delete Meta AI from your social networks because it is a tool that is already built into WhatsApp. However, all is not lost. There are some tricks to at least hide the artificial intelligence assistant from your chat list:
- Archive the chat: Swipe the Meta AI chat to the left in your conversation list and tap “Archive”. This will move it to the archived chats folder, where it will no longer be directly visible.
- Delete the chat: swipe left and tap More (on Android) or Delete (on iOS). Confirm, and the chat will disappear from your list of active chats.
It’s important to note that these actions don’t completely disable or remove the Meta AI feature in WhatsApp. They simply hide the chat from your main view, but the assistant will still be available in the app.
