Resident Evil 4 Remake: PS VR2 Mode Release Date Confirmed
You won’t have to wait much longer to play Resident Evil 4 Remake’s virtual reality mode, which will be free to all players who already own the game.
Good news for PlayStation VR2 fans, Capcom has confirmed that the release date for Resident Evil 4 Remake’s virtual reality mode won’t be too long in coming. The DLC will arrive on December 8 next year at no additional cost to anyone who has purchased a copy of the game on PS5.
If you don’t have it yet, don’t worry: a special demo will arrive the same day, so you can try out its features without having to go through the checkout. In it, you will be able to access the shooting range and experience a “360º vision of the game’s opening sequence”. It will be up to you to test the weapons as much as you want. This mode is exclusive to the PlayStation VR2 device on PS5.
In a press release, the studio emphasizes the features added to this version, especially the way to experience the Resident Evil 4 universe from a different perspective. The knife has received specific improvements when playing in virtual reality to enhance combat, as well as the ability to “Weapons can be handled with natural motions, including unique gestures for reloading specific firearms, such as handguns, shotguns, and rifles.”
The other side of Resident Evil 4 in virtual reality is Meta Quest.
If you don’t have the requirements to play the remake in VR, you should know that there are alternatives to enjoy the game in this function. Meta Quest 2 received a native port of the original version of Resident Evil 4 back in 2021. Currently, it is still one of the flagships of the catalog of the device, and our colleagues from Spain already said it in their review: “It’s the best way to revisit a masterpiece”. The mere fact that we were able to use the weapons as if we were Leon S. Kennedy gave it an added value.
