Revised PS5 Pro and DualSense V3 rumored for November launch
New DualSense controller may offer player-friendly removable battery option.
A new report suggests that Sony is preparing to launch a slightly revised PlayStation 5 Pro console alongside a new version of the DualSense controller this November. This information, originating from the Polish website PPE.pl and citing a reliable source known as Graczdari, points to minor hardware tweaks for the console and a key quality-of-life upgrade for the controller that could significantly benefit players.
The most notable change highlighted in the report focuses on the controller, internally referred to as the DualSense V3. This revised gamepad is rumored to feature a removable battery. While the current DualSense uses an internal rechargeable battery, this potential change would allow users to easily replace the battery when its capacity inevitably degrades over time. It appears the intention is to allow swapping out the existing type of rechargeable battery—and possibly upgrading to a higher-capacity version—rather than shifting to disposable AA batteries. This focus on player longevity is a welcome change, addressing a common concern regarding the lifespan of rechargeable internal cells in controllers. The report indicates that the DualSense V3 will be released in November, directly replacing the current DualSense models available at retailers.

In addition to the new controller, the report also suggests a minor revision to the PlayStation 5 Pro console. This new model is expected to offer a slight improvement in energy efficiency, utilizing approximately 3% less power than the current version. Sony has a history of quietly releasing such minor console revisions throughout a generation, often without major announcement, to improve manufacturing efficiency or comply with evolving energy regulations.
