Robert Downey Jr. criticizes Elon Musk for trying to be a real-life Tony Stark

While Robert Downey Jr. prepares to return to the MCU as the new Doctor Doom, he’s also got some words about the way Elon Musk has been acting in real life.

Robert Downey Jr., best known for his iconic role as the MCU’s Tony Stark (Iron Man) for so many years and who soon returns to the franchise as Doctor Doom in the upcoming crossover of the Avengers, has had enough of the eccentricities of Elon Musk, the tech magnate who owns SpaceX, Tesla, and X. He revealed as such during a recent interview, where he shared that Musk should control himself a little due to his latest public appearances, all the while keeping his comments respectful.

Robert Downey Jr. is fed up with “real-life Tony Stark” attempts

Downey Jr. said so while on the ‘On with Kara Swisher’ podcast, where the Oscar winner was asked what he thought of Elon Musk going through life as if he were Tony Stark.: “I’ve only met him a few times, As an almost 60-year-old recovering white American male, I just wish that he would control his behavior a little more, but that’s not on me.,” said the actor.

He continued:: “I know that this idea of ‘It’s all okay ‘cause we’ve gotta get to Mars’ doesn’t really hold water with me. But again, you know, you have to look at all that he’s done that demonstrates why he’s valuable.” Robert Downey Jr. and Elon Musk have met before, specifically, since the tycoon made an appearance on ‘Iron Man 2′ greeting Pepper Potts first and then Tony Stark.

What’s more, the actor revealed some time ago that his interpretation of Tony Stark was based, in large part, on the increasingly popular figure of Elon Musk as billionaire and eccentric philanthropist, although from what the actor seems to suggest, reality has ended up surpassing fiction one more time.
