‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ is one of the most anticipated releases of the year. The movie starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman will hit theaters on July 25, but the two popular actors are already thinking about their next project. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Reynolds spoke about the project he is preparing with his partner and friend Hugh Jackman.
However, unlike their upcoming film together, this new project seems not to have anything to do with superheroes: “We have one we’re looking to do soon.I would say that [ours] is like any relationship that is successful and works: It’s that two parties are rooting for each other. I’m always rooting for Hugh to score and win. I also know the infinite nuance of his heart and his mind and who he is. I can say firsthand that he’s a person who’s not just worth rooting for, he’s somebody who’s impossible to not root for.”
A friendship that goes far beyond the big screen
What is the secret to such a lasting friendship in an industry like Hollywood? Reynolds seems to have it clear, and that is that “it is not very different from having a partner or a marriage. Since the day I met Hugh Jackman, I truly support you, all the time. I want you to win. I know you are a person who often puts others before yourself. It’s not a show. I see you do it silently, I see you do it out loud and in all instances. I think of you as that guy who grabs the time bomb and flies into the atmosphere in space and lets it explode. Saving all the people in the world.”
