Sadie Sink, actress in ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day,’ on the character she’ll play in the film: “I am not Aunt May”
The actress has ruled out some possibilities that were being discussed in fan theories.
When Marvel Studios releases a new trailer for Avengers, it causes quite a stir. On those days, theories, opinions, and debates abound… And that’s even more true when you consider that the new installment is none other than ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, a film that will define the future of the universe. However, before all that happens, one of Marvel’s key characters is getting his own movie. There are just a few days left until ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’, the web-slinger’s latest installment, hits theaters, and mysteries remain that won’t be revealed until its release. Specifically, there’s one involving Sadie Sink, an actress whose participation has been confirmed but whose role remains unknown.
With the actors fully immersed in the film’s promotional campaign, Sony has been releasing material that offers clues about what might happen. In one of the latest videos posted on the studio’s official Instagram account, Sink reveals some information about her character. That said, it doesn’t do much to clear up the speculation. “Since the trailer dropped, I’ve seen so many theories about who I’m playing. To match your incredible energy, I’ve decided to give yout three exclusive confirmed answers right now,” the actress begins. The first, according to Sink, is that she won’t be playing Spider-Man. The second, however, is more revealing, as it confirms that she won’t be Aunt May either. This rules out the possibility that she’s a variant from another universe or that she’ll appear in a flashback. The third piece of information the actress reveals is that she will appear in the movie—something that was already more than confirmed.
Her character, still unidentified
Despite rumors that have even suggested she might be the mutant Jean Grey, it seems that the true identity of her mysterious character won’t be known for sure until the day the movie premieres. In any case, the actress has emphasized in several interviews how comfortable she felt working on the film, especially with Tom Holland. “It was interesting stepping into that space and being a little bit of an outsider in that way, but he [Tom Holland] could not have been more welcoming, and just the whole crew in general. [Tom Holland] was just so relaxed and open, and I felt very at ease,” she said in an interview with ‘Nylon’.
