Sadie Sink (’Stranger Things’) seen on Spider-Man 4 set for the first time
Set photos fuel speculation and narrows Sink’s role on the MCU.
Actress Sadie Sink has been spotted for the first time in the Spider-Man: Brand New Day set. And while details of which character the 23-year-old actress will play, some fans have begun the speculation regarding the next role for the Stranger Things alumni.
The photos of the actress have spotted her on the London set, next to director Destin Daniel Creston. Though largely covered by a large coat, quick-eyed fans spotted camouflage pants and combat boots, immediately leading to one popular suggestion.
The big mystery: who is Sink playing?
The most compelling fan theory currently suggests that Sink is playing Rachel Cole-Alves. This speculation is bolstered by the confirmed co-starring role of Frank Castle (The Punisher) in Brand New Day. In the comic books, Cole-Alves is a redheaded accomplice of The Punisher who has also assisted Spider-Man, making the connection thematically sound.
However, further set photos released shortly after showed Sink in a completely different ensemble: a black and yellow jacket paired with blue jeans. This second sighting has left other fans less certain about the Cole-Alves theory. Despite the wardrobe changes, one key detail remains consistent: Sink is keeping her red hair for the role. This has largely put an end to earlier speculation that she might be portraying a new version of the popular character Gwen Stacy, a possibility often discussed due to the actress’s prominence. Other early hypotheses for her character included Jean Gray.
Sink isn’t the only major name joining the cast. The film will also feature Liza Colón-Zayas, who has garnered fame thanks to her performance in The Bear, and Tramell Tillman, an Emmy winner for Best Supporting Actor for the second season of Severance.
The production of the fourth Spider-Man installment faced a temporary halt following an incident during an action sequence that resulted in actor Tom Holland requiring hospitalization. Fortunately, filming has resumed normally, and the scheduled premiere date remains unchanged for July 31, 2026. This confirmed date ensures that fans won’t have to wait any longer than planned to see how Sink and the rest of the new cast fit into the web-slinger’s next adventure.
