Sam Raimi and the directors of ‘Don’t Move’ want to make a Spider-Man Miles Morales movie

Is it finally time for Miles Morales to swing onto the big screen in live-action? Some pretty big directors believe so.

It’s only a matter of time before Miles Morales, better known as Spider-Man, makes his way to the MCU. the explosive popularity of the character continues to expand, and due to the youth of Tom Holland, who currently plays Peter Parker’s Spidey, it would be more than likely that both could coexist on screen. But for that to happen, we would first have to introduce the protagonist of Puerto Rican descent, and there are already filmmakers lining up to take a shot at the opportunity: Adam Schindler and Brian Netto, directors of ‘Don’t move’, and Sam Raimi, creator of the wall-crawler trilogy starring Tobey Maguire from the early 2000s.

Both directors have revealed the project they would like to carry out related to Raimi’s filmography, and although there are no official steps forward in this regard as of yet, they revealed that they have spoken with the director of ‘Evil Dead’, among many other films, about a project involving Miles Morales.

The arrival of Miles Morales to the MCU is being forged

When asked by The Hollywood Reporter about any dream projects, the directors of ‘Don’t Movie’ were quick to respond: ”If we’re talking Sam-related, it’s Darkman. We talked about Darkman [with him]. We’ve got a love and an affinity for Darkman”. In that movie, Liam Neeson plays a scientist who researches the recreation of human skin from synthetic fabric before his face is completely disfigured in an accident, transforming him into a vicious vigilante. But it’s not the only thing they have in mind, as the spider hero is also in their thoughts.

“Darkman was my favorite film for a good portion of my life. It was the movie, so Darkman would be really interesting,” says Netto. “At some point, they’re going to take a crack at Miles Morales in live-action. We talked about that [with Sam] too,” reveals Schindler.

But rumors about Raimi in relation to the MCU suggest that the director could be back with the third installment starring Stephen Strange after the success of ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’. Netto, however, has a special connection with Miles, and that could work in his favor...

My wife is from Puerto Rico, so my son is biracial. He’s Black and Puerto Rican just like Miles,” he explained. “The look on his face when he first saw Miles Morales matched the look on my face when I first saw Miles Morales, and it was just exciting to see.”
