Samsung unveils the new Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7: more power, AI and compact design at Unpacked 2025

The new generation of Galaxy foldable arrives to transform the mobile experience.

Samsung has unveiled its next-generation foldable during Unpacked 2025, betting on innovation in design, power and functionality with artificial intelligence. The new Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 redefine what a smartphone can offer by integrating brighter displays, lighter bodies and Galaxy AI-powered tools that elevate the mobile experience to a new level.

Galaxy Z Flip7: a compact design with a more useful screen

The Galaxy Z Flip7 comes with a renewed 4.1-inch FlexWindow, the largest on a Flip so far. This Super AMOLED display not only improves brightness (up to 2,600 nits) and fluidity (120Hz), but allows you to answer messages, check notifications or take selfies without opening the device. When unfolded, a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X main screen appears.

Samsung also refined its design: it is now the brand’s thinnest Flip (13.7 mm folded, 188 g) and sturdier, thanks to Gorilla Glass Victus 2, Armor Aluminum frame and a new, more robust Armor FlexHinge.

The 4,300 mAh battery offers up to 31 hours of video playback, and the custom 3nm processor improves overall performance. In addition, Galaxy AI is now integrated from the external display, with features such as Gemini Live, which allows you to search for information using the camera or voice directly from the FlexWindow.

New features like Now Bar and Now Brief show real-time app activity and smart reminders, while the camera system (50MP main and 12MP ultra wide-angle) leverages FlexCam for selfies without opening the phone and AI night photography enhancements.

Samsung also introduced the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE, which maintains the compact but more affordable design. It includes a 6.7-inch main display and a 50MP FlexCam camera, as well as AI features and customizable external display. It will be available in black and white.

Galaxy Z Fold7: bigger, lighter, more powerful

The Galaxy Z Fold7 represents the pinnacle of Samsung’s foldable series, with a thinner (8.9 mm) and lighter (215 g) design, even more than the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Its 6.5-inch external display enhances the format with a 21:9 ratio, while the internal display grows to 8 inches, ideal for productivity, multitasking and entertainment.

Both Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays achieve 2,600 nits of brightness and feature Vision Booster. The structure is also more robust, with Armor FlexHinge hinge, new Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 ceramic glass, and an internal screen protected with titanium and ultra-thin glass 50% thicker.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite chip for Galaxy enhances graphics and AI power, with features such as real-time translation and generative editing directly on the device. Galaxy AI also allows you to use Gemini Live in full screen, circle objects with Circle to Search, move elements in photos with Photo Assist, and even remove noise from videos with Audio Eraser.

In the photographic segment, the Fold7 includes a 200MP wide-angle camera, unprecedented in this line, with the ProVisual engine and AI enhancements to capture more detail, light and color. It also integrates Knox Matrix and KEEP to reinforce security, as well as post-quantum cryptography in public networks.

Availability

Pre-sales for both models will be available from July 9 to August 7 on Samsung.com and the Samsung Shop App. The Galaxy Z Flip7 will arrive in Blue Shadow, Jetblack and Mint colors, while the Flip7 FE will be available in Black and White. The Galaxy Z Fold7 will be available in 512GB and 1TB versions, in Blue Shadow, Silver Shadow, Jetblack and Mint colors.
