Sansa Stark actress on ‘Game of Thrones’: “I definitely got my sex education from that show”

Sophie Turner confesses that she learned how to act thanks to the actors around her.

Update:

Westeros may be a fantasy world, but its cruelty resembles that of the real world. ‘Game of Thrones’ follows in the wake of George R.R. Martin’s novels and doesn’t hold back on violence or sex. During the Dish from Waitrose podcast, actress Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) has joked that the series was the equivalent of her sex education.

The actress, who played Ned and Catelyn Stark’s daughter during the eight seasons of the series, grew up with her character. At the beginning, Sansa had an innocent mind, but the events of the series made her go through terrible times, unwanted marriages, violence and a lot of mistreatment.

Sex education and much more

“I definitely got my sex education from that show. More, more than enough,” she said in the interview. The interpreter has left behind the joking tone and recalled her experience with ‘Game of Thrones’: “It was the best acting class I’ve ever had, because I never had proper, formal training, so I got to learn from the amazing actors around me. I felt like I’d won, you know, a competition or something.”

Turner has explained that the experience was great and that everyone felt like part of the same family. The character he lived with over the course of a decade perceived him as having “kind of merged into one person by the end of it.”

All 8 seasons of ‘Game of Thrones’ are available on HBO Max.
