Say goodbye to GTA 6 trailer in 2024: Rockstar Games breaks GTA 5′s mark and the last hope fans were clinging to
Fans were hoping that GTA 6 would follow the same timeline as GTA 5, but Rockstar Games has dashed those hopes.
The dream of watching the second GTA 6 trailer in 2024 is fading away. Only a few weeks separate us from the end of the year and everything seems to indicate that Rockstar Games has decided to wait until 2025 to present the next piece of information. This completely breaks with the expectations of the fans, who were expecting a schedule similar to that of the last installment. But GTA 6 is not GTA 5. The two are more than ten years apart and the habits, as usual, are different.
GTA 5 has already become a reference for the second trailer of GTA 6
GTA 5 released its first trailer on November 2, 2011. To watch the second, we had to wait until November 14th, 2012, which is a gap of 378 days between the two (we already did the math, including GTA IV). That same number of days has already passed since the first trailer for GTA 6 was released on December 5, 2023. The move has shaken the minds of fans who thought the timing would be similar. In the end, this was not the case.
From December 16 to 31, is there a chance of a release? Very unlikely. In fact, December 2023 was already too close to the staff holidays to publish such material. Reactions, metrics, repercussions... everything is controlled, and with people on vacation, the task becomes even more difficult. Although the recent announcement of the release of the first ‘Superman’ trailer this week... we cling to a little hope.
And what about GTA 6′s release date?
The GTA 5 calendar left another mark on the horizon that serves as a reference for what the studio can do with GTA 6. Only 22 months passed from the first trailer to the release of the game. The game is still set in the same timeframe as it has been from the beginning: Fall 2025. However, some journalists from media such as Bloomberg claim that Rockstar has already missed several internal delivery targets. We’ll see in the coming weeks.
