‘Scream 8’ is happening—the most iconic and highest-grossing slasher franchise is set to return with two top-tier screenwriters

The ‘Scream’ franchise has become a staple of the slasher film genre, a subgenre of horror in which a killer—usually masked—attempts to murder a group of people using knives. Lilla and Nora Zuckerman have made their mark as showrunners for series such as Poker Face, Prodigal Son, Suits, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and the classic Fringe. An eighth installment that appears to be in the best possible hands, adding optimism to the future of a franchise that is proving to be in one of its best moments.

The review of ‘Scream 7’ published on Meristation USA notes the following: “Scream 7 works, although it’s not the best of the franchise. It is not a radical reinvention nor does it redefine the genre as the original did, but it does prove that the formula still holds up.
