The Legend of Monkey Island, a free expansion DLC for Sea of Thieves that brings the classic game to life once more, is already available. Here’s how to access the new content.

Sea of Thieves expansión monkey island

Sea of Thieves just added one of the most anticipated moments for pirates all over the world. The Legend of Monkey Island, its new expansion, made land for free for all players on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. This expansion is probably one of the biggest and most definitive tribute made for fans of LeChuck, who can now enjoy the legendary characters and the world of the original games through the work of Rare. So here’s what you need to do to join in on the fun.

How to access The Legend of Monkey Island in Sea of Thieves?

Once you start your game you will see that the outpost where you spawn has mounted a new tent near the one dedicated to exploring the Tall Tales. They will be the quarters of Captain Capsize, who, when interacting with the Journey at their table, will begin a long dialogue that will update you on the theme.

No winks are skimped on at any time. At the back of the shop is a Wanted poster with Guybrush’s portrait on it. After several minutes of dialogue, a portal will appear that will send you to the surroundings of Mêlée Island, the enclave on which this expansion will revolve. When you land in the port you will see several coins that allow interaction, one of the objects necessary to complete the first Voyage.

And we insist on this last fact: first Voyage. The July 20 update introduces only the setting (the island), the initial Voyage, and several of the winks that accompany this content framework, which takes into account dialogues between the original characters. The other two Voyages that complete the expansion are coming soon. Following the release of the Pirates of the Caribbean expansion, now Rare’s success continues to celebrate new crossovers with licenses related to pirates.
