Seven mythical SNES titles we dream of getting on Nintendo Switch Online
With a successor close on the horizon, now is a great time for the Nintendo Switch to bet on classics, and we have some SNES games we’d love to play again.
With the transition to Nintendo Switch 2 on the horizon, It’s natural for fans to look back at the massive library of classic games that are lost to time as the generations go by. As such, we’ve been thinking about some of the games we would most like to see brought back through Nintendo Switch Online.
Below you’ll find our picks for SNES games we think should come to the service at any cost, lest they are forgotten in generations past.
The SNES games that should come to Nintendo Switch
- Chrono Trigger - It is one of the best JRPGs in history, so there is no need to say much more. An adventure with capital letters with characters designed by the legendary Akira Toriyama (‘Dragon Ball’). Currently available on Steam, so the option to play it on Nintendo Switch wouldn’t hurt.
- Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars - While it is true that the Nintendo console has a highly recommended remake, it is also true that it would be great to be able to enjoy the original experience.
- Super Castlevania IV - Before being renamed ‘Igavania’, the popular Konami saga left us a series of classic installments that were a success. We wouldn’t dare say it’s the best, but Super Castlevania IV is a true must-have for any fan.
- Final Fantasy VI - Many say that it is the best Final Fantasy of all, and those are big words when it comes to a saga that has games like Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy IX. What is beyond any doubt is that ‘Terra’s Theme’ is one of the most memorable melodies ever seen in a video game.
- Toy Story - It is the best ‘Toy Story’ video game that has ever been made, without further ado. A 2D platform full of tests and moments identical to those of the Disney film.
- Terranigma - It may have been a bit in the shadow of myths like Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI, but Terranigma is a legendary video game that cannot be missing from a collection of Super Nintendo titles. An action RPG in which everything known about the past, future, and nature of the Earth changes completely.
- Tales of Phantasia- With permission from Tales of Symphonia and Tales of the Abyss, here you have one of the best games in the saga. Since the GBA version is not included, why not think about the SNES version?
