‘Shingeki no Kyojin' celebrates 15th anniversary and announces new project for 2024

A decade and a half celebrated with a vote and an award-winning chapter.

This September 9th marks the 15th anniversary of the publication of ‘Shingeki no Kyojin’ in the pages of Bessatsu Shonen Magazine, a magazine published by Kodansha, which began publication at the same time as Hajime Isayama’s work, making both a huge success from the start. The manga was published monthly until April 2021, accumulating a total of 139 chapters and achieving an animated adaptation that catapulted its popularity worldwide.

To celebrate the 15th anniversary of the manga, Kodansha has launched a new popularity poll in which fans of Shingeki no Kyojin can vote for their favorite chapter out of the 139 chapters that make up the manga. This will be compiled in a special magazine along with other chapters selected by people involved in the anniversary and who have been involved with the series in one way or another over the years. The magazine will be released in Japan on November 6th and will feature a cover with brand new artwork created by Hajime Isayama himself.

A popularity poll that does not aim to have a global reach, focusing on the Japanese territory, so it will be mostly residents of the Asian country who will have the opportunity to vote for the chapter that will be selected to appear in this special publication that will be the size of the Bessatsu Shonen magazine itself, which for more than a decade has published one of the most shocking stories of recent times.
