With filming set for January, Amazon is building a powerhouse cast for its Lara Croft revival.

Tomb Raider IV-V-VI Remastered
Update:

Amazon’s upcoming live-action adaptation of Tomb Raider continues to add stars to the cast. According to a recent report by Deadline, legendary actress Sigourney Weaver is currently in active negotiations to join the cast of the highly anticipated series. While nothing has been officially finalized between the actress and Amazon at the time of writing, the discussions indicate a strong interest in bringing Weaver into the fold. Known globally for her iconic role as Ellen Ripley in the Alien franchise and her recent work in the Avatar films, Weaver’s involvement would lend significant prestige to the project. Currently, the specific character she would play remains under wraps, leaving fans to speculate on whether she might take on the role of a mentor figure or perhaps an antagonist to the famous archaeologist, Lara Croft.

If negotiations prove successful, Weaver will join an already impressive roster. It was recently confirmed that Sophie Turner, best known for her role in Game of Thrones, is set to portray the titular heroine, Lara Croft. Additionally, British actor Martin Bobb-Semple has been confirmed for a “major” role. Although details are scarce, online speculation suggests Bobb-Semple could be playing Zip, Lara’s tech-savvy ally who features prominently in the Tomb Raider: Legend timeline, though this remains unconfirmed.
