Silent Hill 2 Remake is broken on PS5 Pro and fans are unhappy with Konami’s silence

The game looks worse than on the base console and suffers from annoying flickering.

More than a week after the launch of the PS5 Pro, Silent Hill 2 Remake still looks worse than on the base console. Bloober Team’s horror title has been updated to use PSSR rescaling technology, which has caused numerous technical problems on this platform. Despite complaints from players who warned Konami about the bugs, neither the Japanese company nor the Polish studio have said anything publicly. Meanwhile, the community has complained about the lack of solutions, as can be seen from the reactions on social media.

“Silent Hill 2 Remake on PS5 Pro is broken,” said one user on X, formerly known as Twitter. Reflections are flickering all over the place, it’s unplayable.” Another gamer on Reddit said: “I finished downloading, booted up and the bathroom cinematic popped up, walked out and immediately noticed something was wrong without even looking at the gameplay or playing beforehand. It’s that bad. According to the author, he could not play because the bad state of the game was distracting. “Please release a patch for PS5 Pro,” commented another angry person.

Silent Hill 2 Remake labeled “Enhanced on PS5 Pro”

Konami’s failure to publicly announce a patch doesn’t mean they’re not working on it, but the silence is contributing to a sense of uncertainty among the gaming community. The last tweet from the official Silent Hill 2 account dates back to November 12th and makes no reference to the status of the game on Sony’s new platform. The most shocking thing is that the title is stamped “Enhanced on PS5 Pro”, when in fact it is just the opposite. We’ll have to wait and see if Konami comes up with a solution soon.

Silent Hill 2 Remake is one of the contenders for Game of the Year. Developed exclusively for PS5 and PC, the Bloober team has not only updated the graphics, but has added new puzzles and sections that expand on the original work.
