Silksong’s best-kept secret has been revealed thanks to an email to Kickstarter backers
A detail in the soundtrack explains the difference in scale between Hollow Knight and Silksong.

The small trio that forms the core of Team Cherry made it clear that their priority when it came to communication would be with the patrons who backed Hollow Knight when it was a complete unknown, seeking, like so many others, funding through crowdfunding sites such as Kickstarter. It is they, particularly those who trusted not only in the game but also in the DLC that was to be Silksong (until it became something very different), who were the first to discover one of the work’s best-kept secrets: its soundtrack, which also represents a significant departure from Hollow Knight.
We have confirmation from emails received by Kickstarter backers that Silksong's OST will include 53 tracks!

For comparison Hollow Knight was 26 + 15 DLC pic.twitter.com/D5eqkQQ2Rd
The original Hollow Knight soundtrack had a total of 26 tracks, plus about fifteen that were added later. The (pleasant) surprise was finding that the Silksong soundtrack has a total of 53 tracks, more than double the original. It’s a very good indication that the scale of the game and the ambition of the team have prepared us for an adventure with a capital A.

After a long wait of years, hopes dashed and anticipation cut short, Silksong is now a reality.
