Skull and Bones announces open beta dates and a roadmap for the game’s first year

Ubisofts long-promised pirate game is very close to its release, and the company has an open beta period planned for players to try it beforehand.

Skull and Bones, the Ubisoft pirate game, is preparing for its launch on February 16th, but first, we can enjoy an open beta that will run from Thursday 8 to Sunday, February 11. What can we do during the open beta? Contracts from the main campaign, being able to complete several until we reach the contract called “Exterminate the Rat”. Contracts will be the most direct path in the world of Skull and Bones, and will serve as a guide to build a reputation and discover more about the game world.

The open beta will allow us to discover more about the game, such as the Red Island on the coast of Africa. On it is the pirate lair of Sainte-Anne. Ruled by John Scurlock, the local kingpin you’ll have to deal with as you begin your rise to the top of the pirate world. This lair is a safe area where you can interact with other players, craft your ships, weapons and equipment with the help of the skilled craftsmen who have made this place their home. You will be able to access your warehouse to store loot, repair your ship, sell goods you have liberated from rich merchants, and much more. In addition, we can discover a totally new region that did not appear in the previous closed betas: The East Indies.

How to access the Skull and Bones open beta?

We can access directly on PC from Ubisoft Connect or the Epic Games Store, installing the game that will be found in the free games category; while on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S we will have to search for the game in the store of each console, install and access the title. All those who participate in the open beta will be able to get different rewards, including weapons, cosmetics to decorate our ship, a pet, and an emote such as sign language.

Skull and Bones Roadmap in its first year

The new thing from Ubisoft will have a seasonal system, and in each of them, we will find new features: challenges, ships, bosses. Pirates and legendary dangers across the seas; world events that will help us grow our name and achieve great rewards; an endgame that will vary throughout each season, providing incentives for players to continue at the top of their game; PvP with which to try to reach the top of the rankings and, also, free limited-time events that will take place throughout each season.
