Someone recreated the Mantis Blades from Cyberpunk 2077 in real life and they are truly fearsome
A cosplayer managed to create the iconic Mantis Blades from Cyberpunk 2077, and the results are spectacular.
Cosplay has given us incredible representations of all sorts of characters from video games, series and movies at the hands of fans with a lot of art and skill to make their own outfits, gadgets, and more. And the example that we bring you today is at the level of the best, if only for the quality and functionality of the virtual - and lethal - object on which it is based.
Yes, we are talking about the iconic Mantis Blades of Cyberpunk 2077, the fearsome cybernetic blades with which you can cut anyone’s throat in the blink of an eye; in the videogame, of course. It was the cosplayer Zibartas who managed to recreate such sharp blades to a practically perfect level; and they are functional!
The definitive Cyberpunk 2077 cosplay
Although the Mantis Blades of Cyberpunk 2077 require augmentation surgery that currently is nothing more than science fiction, this cosplayer has managed to recreate the weapon as bracelets with retractable blades, thus simulating the effect shown in the game without resorting to unattainable futuristic surgery.
“Almost done with my Mantis Blades from Cyberpunk 2077. The responsiveness is nuts!”, the cosplayer shared on social media along with the video that you can see above these lines. And although he recognizes that there are some details left to polish, the result could not be more spectacular, with a mechanism that works surprisingly well and that gives us an idea of how fearsome these blades would be in real life.
Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition, the most complete edition of CD Projekt RED’s game, is now available for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, both in physical and digital format. And speaking of the physical format, although in the case of PlayStation 5 the game comes on disc with version 2.0 and a download code for the Phantom Liberty expansion, in the case of Xbox Series X all of the content comes on three discs, without download codes involved.
