Someone reimagined Zelda: Ocarina of Time as a Ghibli production using Unreal Engine 5

A fan has put in the work to transform The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time’s Link into a Hayao Miyazaki protagonist, and the results are quite charming.

Have you ever thought about what the Zelda series would be like if Studio Ghibli was the one responsible for its games? Well, a fan of both shows us thanks to an interesting video created with Unreal Engine 5, the newest engine created by Epic Games. Specifically, they have recreated Ocarina of Time, possibly the most popular installment of the franchise that is about to turn 25 years old.

Youtube user RwanLink is the author of the video, in which you can see Link arriving at Hyrule market, Malon, and even the occasional Deku near the Kokiri Forest. As you can see, the visual style is almost identical to that of Ghibli films, and surely more than one fan would not dislike the idea of seeing a Zelda game like this...

Ocarina of Time turns 25 years old

How time flies, right? The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was released back in 1998, a year that many players consider the best in the history of gaming. Link’s adventure in Hyrule launched on November 21, 25 years ago, so in a matter of days, we will be able to celebrate its anniversary.

Where to play Zelda: Ocarina of Time in 2023

The Nintendo 64 classic has been on several consoles from the Japanese company, so you have several options to enjoy it. The original cartridge is the first, of course, although it is currently included in the Nintendo Switch Online service (you also have Zelda: Majora’s Mask in its catalog). Another interesting option is The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, the graphic remake that came to Nintendo 3DS.
