Sonic Racing Crossworlds adds leaked SpongeBob and Patrick, with Avatar and TMNT coming later to the game
Sonic Racing Crossworlds welcomes Nickelodeon crossovers with more iconic franchises to come.
SEGA has officially confirmed that Sonic Racing Crossworlds is bringing SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star into its high-speed roster as part of its Digital Deluxe Edition Season Pass. Revealed at the 2025 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, this marks the first wave of Nickelodeon content, with additional packs based on Avatar Legends and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles already on the horizon, after already showing a Minecraft crossover a few weeks earlier.
SpongeBob and Patrick zoom into Bikini Bottom
The new DLC introduces an all-new Bikini Bottom course, complete with underwater hazards and Mecha Plankton obstacles. Racers can hop into the Patty Wagon—a vehicle shaped like a Krabby Patty—and harness its unique handling to zoom past opponents. Both characters come with signature voice lines, custom animations, and themed gadgets that shake up traditional kart racing mechanics.
What’s next: Avatar and TMNT
After SpongeBob and Patrick, SEGA will roll out crossover packs featuring Avatar Legends and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. While details on specific characters and tracks remain under wraps, trailers have teased classic locales—Ba Sing Se’s cityscape and the bustling streets of New York City from TMNT’s Mutant Mayhem. These collaborations promise to expand Crossworlds’ universe beyond Sonic lore, blending diverse franchises in a single racing experience.
Season Pass perks and release timing
All three Nickelodeon packs are included in the Season Pass, available exclusively with the Digital Deluxe Edition. SEGA plans to stagger these releases over several months, likely extending into early 2026 to maintain player engagement. Free post-launch characters—such as Joker from Persona 5 and Ichiban from Like a Dragon—will continue alongside premium DLC to offer the largest roster in any Sonic racer to date.
With courses spanning land, sea, air and now iconic pop-culture worlds, Sonic Racing Crossworlds leverages its Travel Rings mechanic to warp racers mid-competition, making each race unpredictable and thrilling. The addition of SpongeBob, Patrick, Avatar and TMNT content underscores SEGA’s ambition to create a truly cross-worlds experience, appealing to fans of both Sonic and other major entertainment franchises.
