Sonos Amp Multi: The smart heart your home audio system has been missing

The brand presents a high-performance multi-channel amplifier designed to simplify audio in modern homes and smart spaces.

Update:

When we think of a smart home, we tend to imagine lights that turn on by themselves or automatic blinds, but audio is often overlooked due to its complexity. Sonos, a long-standing name in the premium audio industry, has just launched the Amp Multi. It is a professional streaming amplifier designed to bring music to every corner of your home without the nightmare of cables and impossible configurations.

This new device is not just “another gadget” on the shelf. It has been created with open-plan, multifunctional homes in mind that need powerful sound but, above all, something that is invisible and easy to use.

What makes the Sonos Amp Multi different from other amplifiers?

The big difference lies in its architecture and flexibility. While traditional amplifiers are usually heavy boxes that only control a couple of speakers, the Amp Multi has eight outputs of 125 W each. This allows a single device to manage up to four independent areas of the house (for example: the living room, the garden, the kitchen, and the master bedroom).

The most interesting feature is the GaN (gallium nitride) power technology. For those unfamiliar with the term, this means that the device is extremely efficient: it produces clear, powerful sound without overheating. Thanks to this, the Amp Multi does not need noisy fans, so you can hide it in a closet or TV cabinet and it will run in complete silence.

How does it enhance the home entertainment experience?

The magic of Sonos has always been its ecosystem, and this product takes it to the next level. Imagine you’re hosting a gathering: from the app on your phone, you can play the same song throughout your home in sync, or let the kids listen to a podcast in their room while you enjoy a movie in the living room.

  • Customized sound: It includes a tool called ProTune, which allows you to adjust the audio with pinpoint accuracy according to the shape of your room.
  • Expandability: You can connect up to 24 Sonos Architectural speakers (3 per channel), ensuring full coverage even in large homes.
  • Invisible installation: Its design is optimized for racks, taking up little space and keeping cables tidy and out of sight.

When will it be available on the market, and at what price?

Sonos has confirmed that the Amp Multi will be available through its professional installation partners in the coming months. Although it is a professional-grade device, its interface is as intuitive as any other speaker from the brand, eliminating the need to be an expert to enjoy high-fidelity audio. The device will be one of the stars at the Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2026 trade show, where all of its integration capabilities will be on display.
