Sony confirms it is working on two new Spider-Man spinoffs eagerly awaited by fans
No details about these projects can be shared yet, but we do know that they are in development.

Spider-Man fans have plenty of reasons to be excited about the character’s future, as Sony Pictures Animation has revealed that it has big plans for the IP. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the company’s co-presidents, Kristine Belson and Damien de Froberville, confirmed that they currently have at least three projects related to the wall-crawler’s universe in the works.
Logically, the first of these is ‘Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse,’ the third installment of the trilogy starring Miles Morales, which is expected to premiere on June 18, 2027. At the same time, Belson said they are also working on two spinoffs: one focused on Spider-Punk and the other on Spider-Gwen. The first of these was revealed a few months ago in an exclusive report by Deadline, which claimed that the project is already in pre-production with Daniel Kaluuya reprising his role as Hobie Brown and serving as screenwriter. As for the Spider-Gwen project, all that is known is that it is in development, but everything points to it not being live action.

In 2026, it will be time to enjoy ‘Spider-Noir’ and ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’
Following this announcement, it has become clear that Sony has found a new cash cow in the Spider-Verse trilogy. The films starring Miles Morales introduced many other Spider-Man variants that won over fans, so the company decided to create its own independent stories with new animated and live-action projects. This led to Spider-Noir, an exclusive Prime Video series in which Nicolas Cage reprises his role as the more detective-like version of the character.
