Sony leaks PS5 Pro in its PlayStation 30th anniversary campaign

The new console model resembles the PS5 Slim and looks like it will be announced soon.

The announcement of the PS5 Pro is imminent. Leaks have followed one another over the past few months, but the design of the new console came to light a few days ago. In case there was any doubt about its veracity, the company itself confirmed it in an official image. The Japanese are celebrating the 30th anniversary of PlayStation, so they have shared an artwork in which you can see the design of the machine, which matches the leaked one. The unknown is when the announcement will be made, although rumors point to a PlayStation Showcase scheduled for next week.

The design of the PS5 Pro looks similar to the PS5 Slim. It has several diagonal lines running down the middle of the case. It is not clear if there will be a model with a disc reader or if it will be digital only to save costs. In any case, the slim version already has the possibility of attaching the hard drive, which is also sold separately. The technical specifications were leaked some time ago, as well as Sony’s intention to implement a seal to distinguish games that introduce visual or performance improvements.

From the failure of Concord to the triumph of Astro Bot

Sony’s situation can be summed up in these words: it crashed and burned. Concord, a game as a service that had been in development for 8 years, was released and lasted only a few days on the market. After realizing that sales were dismal, PlayStation decided to pull the game and chart a new strategy. Meanwhile, the new production of Team Asobi, the platformer Astro Bot, has conquered the press around the world.

What improvements will the new PS5 bring? How much will it cost? These are questions that are about to be answered.
