Update:

Tomb Raider,’ the new Amazon Studios series based on the video game franchise of the same name, has hit a snag. The studio has decided to temporarily halt filming. This decision comes after Sophie Turner suffered a back injury, as confirmed by Amazon in a statement sent to Deadline. The ‘Game of Thrones’ star, who plays Lara Croft in the series, will be staying away from the cameras for a couple of weeks.

“Sophie Turner recently experienced a minor injury,” an Amazon Studios spokesperson said. “As a precaution, production has briefly paused to allow her time to recover. We look forward to resuming production as soon as possible.”

Filming will resume in two weeks

Although originally it wasn’t sure were this accident happened, a new report by Variety confirms that Sophie was injured on set. What does seem clear is that Amazon Studios plans to resume filming in about two weeks. The studio announced on January 15 that production had already begun.

In addition to Sophie Turner, the series created by Phoebe Waller-Bridge features stars such as Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs, Martin Bobb-Semple, Jack Bannon, John Heffernan, Bill Paterson, Paterson Joseph, Sasha Luss, Juliette Motamed, Celia Imrie, and August Wittgenstein.
