Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse joins Marvel’s multiverse in an epic new trailer
Sony Pictures Animation and Marvel share a new trailer for their upcoming animated film based on the Spiderverse with multiple references to the multiverse.
Sony Pictures Animation and Marvel have released through their official channels a new trailer for the upcoming Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. This brand new trailer of more than two minutes long and that tells us much more about the plot of this anticipated sequel to the acclaimed Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse. And, oh boy, it does so with a lot of references to both the Spider-verse and the Marvel multiverse in general, connecting with other films and cinematic universes with a lot of references, and so on. Of course, the beginning of the trailer is a statement of intent that will excite fans of Spider-Man in the cinema. Check out the trailer below:
The Spider-Man Multiverse of Madness
“Miles Morales returns for the next chapter in the Oscar-winning Spider-Verse saga., Spider-Man: Across the Spider-verse. After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence. But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most,” is what we can read in the official synopsis.
This new animated film is directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers and Justin K. Thompson from a script by Phil Lord, Christopher Miller and Dave Callaham. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse features an impressive voice cast that includes Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld and Jake Johnson reprising their roles from the first film. They are joined by Oscar Isaac as Spider-Man 2099, Issa Rae as Spider-Woman, Karan Soni, Jason Schwartzman, Daniel Kaluuya, Shea Whigham and Jorma Taccone.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be released on June 2, 2023.
