Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse’s release date is delayed, but it’s not that bad

Spider-Verse will move its release date to take advantage of the summer.

Update:

Fans of Spider-Man and Miles Morales will have to wait a little longer. The next film in the ‘Spider-Verse’ trilogy Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse will be delayed, although it won’t be such a serious date change.

According to information from Variety, Beyond the Spider-Verse will have a change in its release date from June 4, 2027, to June 25 of the same year. As can be seen, it won’t be such a long wait, as it will be just three weeks. Informants from the studio informed the media that this change was made to take better advantage of school vacations, since for the new date “100% of schools in the U.S. will be on summer break”.

Beyond the Spider-Verse has had a long series of delays. Originally announced to arrive in March 2024, the film faced its first delay due to Writers Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA strikes, entering “full production” by the end of 2023. However, by the end of 2024, much of the material had been scrapped, leaving the film to start from scratch. By CinemaCon 2025, it had been announced that the film would arrive on the previous date, June 4, 2027.

The perfect ending to the trilogy

In 2018, ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ made an appearance in theaters and was a brutal success, grossing almost $400 million at the global box office. The premise of the multiverse and the introduction of a new hero, Miles Morales, caused a phenomenon among the public and the film was a huge success. 5 years later, in 2023, ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ was released, already considered one of this century’s best animated films. That is why the premiere of the third part of the trilogy, ‘Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse’, has been long awaited since then. However, we will have to wait until 2027 at least to enjoy the perfect closure to the trilogy.
