Spotify beats Apple Music and finally launches lossless music, but it won’t be for all users
One of the features most requested by Spotify customers will gradually be rolled out from country to country.

The war between Spotify and Apple Music intensifies with the introduction of one of Cupertino’s star features, which is already making waves with the new iPhone 17. Lossless Audio arrives on September 10 in a number of countries and will continue to be rolled out progressively until October, when it will cover most markets where Spotify is available.
Among the first countries that already have the feature “across nearly every song available on Spotify” are Australia, Austria, Czechia, Denmark, Germany, Japan, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Portugal, Sweden, the US, and the UK.

Not all Spotify users will be able to enjoy this new boost in audio quality. Only Premium subscribers will be able to do so, adding yet another advantage to the subscription over the free version, which also has advertising.
What exactly is Spotify’s lossless music?
Let’s talk about the technical side. This lossless audio feature allows streaming to encode songs with a depth of up to 24-bit at a rate of 44.1 kHz in FLAC format.
The simple explanation would be as follows: it can play songs with a higher depth than normal using a format whose algorithm ensures that no data is lost from the original recording.
Users can perceive all the nuances and unique features of the recordings that artists upload to the platform. It’s the closest thing to listening to a master recording, but from the comfort of your living room and at the click of a button on your mobile phone (or computer).
Apple Music has been offering this feature to its subscribers for years, which is why fans are insisting on it. Both services are going all out, with increasingly similar weapons.
