Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is now in some stores and Respawn asks not to spoil the game

Some players have already accessed a final copy of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, and spoilers are starting to circulate online.

Every time a major release hits the market, we have to be vigilant to avoid spoilers, and the case of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor could not be an exception. In fact, some players have already had access to an early copy of the game, so Respawn has asked them to at least respect the rest of the mortals who will have to wait until later this week to get their copy.

“No spoilers!” the studio said flatly. “We’re beyond excited for everyone to experience #StarWarsJediSurvivor this week! We ask that you please be mindful of others and avoid posting or sharing spoilers. And remember, BD is watching!” in reference to the friendly droid who accompanies Cal Kestis on his adventure.

For his part, Pete Stewart, writer and developer at Respawn, tweeted in the same spirit. Please, friends, don’t spoil the game,” Stewart said. “We all worked very hard to create something that hopefully surprises and delights you all. I know a lot of people will be upset to see spoilers before they get to play, and for us it’s REALLY disheartening to see as well. Be kind, y’all.”

EA’s Andy McNamara also chimed in. “Please be respectful of the experience for others. Be safe out there Jedi,” he said, emphasizing respect for players who won’t have access to the game until the official release date.

A “weighty” controversy also comes with its release

Meanwhile, yesterday we learned that the disc edition of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will require a download of no less than 130 gigabytes of data, causing outrage among lovers of the physical format. In fact, the weight of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series SDD is a whopping 147GB and 139GB respectively on both platforms.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be released this coming Friday, April 28th on PS5, Xbox Series and PC.
