‘Star Wars’ officially welcomes Sigourney Weaver to ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu’
Sigourney Weaver is making her way to the Galaxy Far, Far Away, and although she can’t reveal much, she did say she’s already met Grogu.
The Hollywood Reporter claimed a few months ago that Sigourney Weaver was negotiating with Lucasfilm to play a character in ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu’, the film debut of the characters from the successful ‘Star Wars’ spinoff. The negotiations have been fruitful and the protagonist of ‘Alien’ has signed on for the Disney production. This is what the interpreter herself has announced, who has also pointed out that he has already been able to meet little Grogu.
“I’m playing a role in The Mandalorian & Grogu’” Weaver revealed in an interview with Deadline. “I got to meet Grogu for the first time the other day. I’m filming that before I go to London for The Tempest at the end of the year.” The ‘Ghostbusters’ star has expressed her excitement at being present in another of the best-known science fiction sagas. “I’m looking forward to it. I can’t say much about it right now but it’s fun to bounce between all these different universes.”
Will Sigourney Weaver be back in ‘Ghostbusters’
Another issue to take into account is her possible return to ‘Ghostbusters’, a series of films that has been resurrected in recent years with new installments. However, Weaver has not been convinced of this. “Not that ‘m aware of”, she said in reference to whether she has proof of her return.
After the strikes of Hollywood screenwriters and actors, the fourth season of ‘The Mandalorian’ delayed its production. In the end, Lucasfilm changed its strategy and has transformed the series into a movie, which will be released on May 22, 2026. Directed and co-written by Jon Favreau along with Dave Filoni, this feature film will be the first Star Wars movie to see the light of day since ‘The Rise of Skywalker’, which debuted in theaters in 2019.
