‘Star Wars’: this is how Darth Vader found out the Emperor’s lie about Padme Star Wars

After the destruction of the first Death Star, Lord Vader took to investigating the situation and found the truth about his origin.

After the defeat of Darth Vader before Obi-Wan Kenobi, Palpatine rescues him from the burning fires of Mustafar. Limbless and burned alive, young Skywalker clings to life but needs urgent medical assistance. Darth Sidious leads him to a healing chamber and places him in his signature armor. As soon as he wakes up, the first thing he asks is about Padmé, his wife. Then, the Sith master tells him that it was Vader himself who murdered the senator. As everything around him falls apart, we get that legendary scene of him screaming out in anger. According to Sidious, a fit of anger was what caused the fatal outcome. Of course, it was another one of his lies.

Darth Vader on Padmé's trail

In ‘Revenge of the Sith’, Padmé Amidala dies just after giving birth to her little twins, Leia and Luke. Knowing that the Galactic Empire will try to get the children, they separate them into two different families. Meanwhile, Vader remains in the dark, until he begins to investigate, as revealed in the comic ‘Darth Vader’. At the end of ‘A New Hope’, a Rebel pilot destroys the Death Star. The Sith Lord commissions Boba Fett what discover the identity of the young man, a piece of information he finally obtains. When Vader hears that the boy’s name is Luke Skywalker, he immediately connects it with his own last name.

Once this disturbing truth is discovered, Vader continues his investigation. He meets Sabé, Queen Amidala’s double, and continues pulling at the strings. Anakin Skywalker visits his wife’s grave and finds other clues, which take him to the place where Padmé gave birth. Despite all his efforts, Darth Vader does not realize that he also has a daughter until he confronts his offspring in ‘Return of the Jedi’, shortly before redeeming himself and returning to the light.
