Stardew Valley’s 10th anniversary video reveals two new marriage candidates
ConcernedApe shares a look back at development and teases future content.

Stardew Valley is celebrating its 10th anniversary, and it is undoubtedly one of the most important truly independent titles. One of the aspects that makes this game continue to resonate after a decade is the dedication that its creator, Eric Barone, better known as ConcernedApe, has brought to the game, delivering updates that have turned the experience into something that goes beyond a farm simulator.
This afternoon, Barone posted a video on his YouTube channel to celebrate this tenth anniversary, looking back at the game’s development so far and giving a sneak peek at the highly anticipated 1.7 update. With that, one of the surprises that had most excited the community was finally revealed: the two upcoming characters who will become marriage candidates in the future within the game, expanding the options since version 1.1.
Expanding romance in Pelican Town
With a whole envelope ceremony, Eric Barone announced these two characters, who were already part of the game’s cast. The first option is Clint, the town blacksmith, known for his unrequited love for Emily. On the other hand, Sandy, the shopkeeper from Calico Desert, will also be an option (although you’ll first have to get the bus to reach the desert). While Clint has become a divisive figure among the community, Sandy has long been a sought-after option for players of the game.

Update 1.7 does not yet have an official release window, so we can only hope that Concerned Ape will give us a date soon for its arrival, first on PC and then on consoles.
