Update:

Valve demonstrates that its new hardware line continues the trend set by Steam Deck. With the recent confirmation of its commitment to desktop gaming with Steam Machine, the American company has confirmed the successor to Valve Index. Steam Frame goes beyond VR: it is a portable PC capable of running games from your library natively.

Valve’s ambitious plan with Steam Frame

Yes, you read that right: Steam Frame will be able to run games from your library that are not necessarily compatible with virtual reality. No Man’s Sky, for example, will run in real time on your device on a large screen in front of you without the need for external connections. Those that are not compatible can be played via streaming.

Valve has opted for a fully wireless design, with a single strap similar to that seen in Apple Vision Pro. SteamOS is the operating system that powers the device, with a Snapdragon 8 Series processor and 16 GB of RAM. The device comes with a pair of controllers that have buttons and haptic feedback.
