Update:

Shift Up, the developer behind Stellar Blade, is not slowing down. Following a highly successful launch on PlayStation 5 and a subsequent arrival on PC, the studio has officially confirmed it is exploring a broader horizon. In a recent financial report, the team revealed they are actively reviewing a platform expansion beyond its current homes to reach an even larger audience.

The move is designed to transform Stellar Blade into a “steady, long-tail IP.” By introducing the action title to new consoles—widely speculated to be Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2—Shift Up aims to build massive momentum before the next chapter of the story begins.

Building the future of the franchise

The studio is clearly thinking long-term. Beyond just porting the original game, Shift Up confirmed that Stellar Blade 2 is currently in development. The developers view 2026 as a pivotal “transitional year” where the focus will remain on growing the existing player base while simultaneously ramping up anticipation for the sequel. By the time the “next phase” of the franchise arrives, the studio expects a significantly larger global community to be ready and waiting.

In addition to expanding Eve’s universe, the team is hard at work on a brand-new project currently titled Project Spirits. Described as a “next-generation flagship title,” this new IP is being developed in collaboration with Level Infinite (a division of Tencent). Unlike Stellar Blade’s solo journey, Project Spirits is targeting a simultaneous release across consoles, PC, and mobile platforms, emphasizing “global scalability” and a high level of technical polish.
