‘Street Fighter’ confirms rap legend and DC actor, hints at another WWE star
One of WWE’s biggest stars in recent years could join the movie project.
It seemed that the movie based on the popular fighting game Street Fighter was about to be canceled, but nothing further. What’s more, in the last few weeks, it has accelerated its casting process, having announced some stars like Jason Momoa or Roman Reigns. Just in the last few days a few more have been announced, including some really big names.
One of them is rapper Curtis Jackson, more popularly known as 50 Cent. Jackson, with great success thanks to albums like ‘Get Rich or Die Trying’ or ‘The Massacre,’ will play the boxer Balrog. It will be far from his first film adventure, as he has participated in films such as ‘Escape Plan,’ ‘Den of Thieves,’ and ‘Expendables 4.’
Another confirmed name is that of David Dastmalchian, known among the public for playing Polka Dot-Man in ‘Suicide Squad,’ but also for roles in ‘Late Night with the Devil,’ ‘Oppenheimer,’ or ‘The Last Voyage of the Demeter,’ in addition to the ‘One Piece’ live-action series. The actor is also known for his passion for comics, being a huge collector and creator of a series titled ‘Kings vs. Samurais.’ Dastmalchian will play the evil M. Bison.
Jackson and Dastmalchian join an already long list that includes Andrew Koji (Ryu), Noah Centineo (Ken), Orville Peck (Vega), Callina Liang (Chun-Li), Andrew Schulz (Dan), and the aforementioned Momoa (Blanka) and Reigns (Akuma). This in fact might not be the only WWE star to join the project...
The face of WWE, in talks to join
And it is that the favorite of the production to get into the skin of Guile is none other than Cody Rhodes. Since his return to WWE, Rhodes (son of legend Dusty Rhodes) has become the face of the company and a favorite of the kids, thanks to his affable character, but he has also earned the respect of veteran fans for his undeniable skills in the ring. Although he recently lost the WWE title to John Cena, Rhodes hasn’t lost an ounce of charisma among fans.
