Summer Game Fest

Summer Game Fest 2023: date, time, and everything you need to know

This year, we’re getting another edition of Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest full of video game announcements and surprises. Here’s how and when to watch it.

Summer Game Fest

The month of June is approaching and as usual, with it come the big video game conferences of the year. Although E3 has been officially canceled, a good number of events (such as the recently announced Xbox Showcase & Starfield Direct) are willing to take over. And the most important of all aims to be Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest, already well established after several years of announcements and more announcements. Here you’ll find all of the currently released information, from how to watch it to what to expect.

What can we expect from the Summer Game Fest?

The official account of the event on Twitter teased: “Video game summer isn’t canceled. Summer Game Fest returns this June, featuring events, announcements and updates from more than 25 of the industry’s leading publishers, platforms and developers. Plus our spectacular showcase event, live Thursday, June 8.”

That is a minimum of 25 games (including those that have already been revealed and new surprises) that will parade through the event. And knowing the background of it, many will be confirmed in the days before. Although he likes to save some shockers for the show, Geoff Keighley is used to keeping our hype levels controlled by teasing the vast majority of things we can expect. In fact, he has already confirmed one: the Cyberpunk 2077 expansion, Phantom Liberty.

We’ll see who else signs up for the party but for now, you can expect the event to be long. There will be more than one commercial break and you only need to look back at the three hours it lasted last year to understand that a single bowl of popcorn won’t be enough, you might need a full dinner and dessert.

How to watch Summer Game Fest 2023?

Summer Game Fest 2023 can be followed through the usual channels, which we remind you are the same ones used to broadcast The Game Awards. The reason? That behind both events is the same master of ceremonies, Geoff Keighley. Therefore, do not be surprised if you see that the Youtube or Twitch accounts of the event are not named after the event.
