Superman Legacy: The new James Gunn DC Universe now has its Lex Luthor
The new DC Cinematic Universe wil get its first glimpse of Lex Luthor with Superman Legacy, as reports indicate the villain has already been cast.
One of the most recurring rumors about ‘Superman Legacy’ was about which actor was going to play Lex Luthor, Superman’s greatest villain and one of the most prominent figures in the DC universe and the world of superheroes in general. Nicholas Hoult sounded like the biggest candidate to play Luthor, and it turns out that such was actually the case, as reported by Deadline.
Nicholas Hoult will be Lex Luthor in ‘Superman Legacy’. The British actor will thus put himself in the shoes of a character that performers of the stature of Gene Hackman and Kevin Spacey, among others, have already played.

The British actor is by no means unknown, having participated in a multitude of films and series throughout his decades-long career, standing out for his incredibly wide acting range. Born in 1989, his first role on the big screen was in 1996, but it would be at the age of 17 with the ‘Skins’ series when recognition began to come to his career. From there, films like ‘Clash of the Titans’, ‘X-Men: First Class’, ‘Jack the Giant Slayer’ ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’, ‘Deadpool 2′ and ‘Tolkien’ among many others. Roles of all kinds, and now a new version of Lex Luthor that may end up being the most important moment of his still young career as an actor.
The DC universe will change completely in the coming years. James Gunn has a whole challenge ahead, and ‘Superman Legacy’ will be the foundation stone with which the new DCU starts in 2025. The new Superman will represent a moment in which a point will begin in which the historic company intends to stand out in a big way worldwide, with a proposal and development of its works that may be similar to what is seen in the MCU.
