Surprise! Dragon Age: The Veilguard got an unexpected DLC
The content is Steam-exclusive so far, and it is unclear if it will be coming to Xbox or PlayStation.

After seeing underwhelming sales numbers, BioWare seemed to have abandoned Dragon Age: The Veilguard, but this Friday, it unexpectedly released a new weapons DLC for Steam users. The studio has removed most of the developers who were working on the game, while the remaining team focused on fixing bugs. However, they still managed to release a little surprise.
“Rise as Rook in Dragon Age™: The Veilguard. This offer includes Rook’s Weapon Appearance Set for all players who own the game on PC. This offer is available to players who purchase the game by April 9, 2025. The items will appear in Rook’s Room when you log into Dragon Age™: The Veilguard,” states the description on Steam.
This limited-time DLC includes the Watchful Set of cosmetics for Rook:
- Watchful Blade
- Watchful Maul
- Watchful Poniard
- Watchful Bow
- Watchful Shield
As of writing this article, it is unclear wether this content will be released for Xbox Series X|S or PlayStation 5 consoles, and the official social media accounts for Dragon Age haven’t released any posts about it. However, this content could be a marketing effort related to the Steam offers, which the game doesn’t currently have on consoles.
It seems that we could be seeing it appear whenever the game enters a sale season on those devices, but for now it is Steam-exclusive. Fans shouldn’t expect it though, since BioWare has moved on from Dragon Age: The Veilguard, to focus on Mass Effect 5.
