The Nintendo Switch 2 launch is just around the corner, but not everyone who pre-ordered will have a console at launch.

Update:

We don’t need to remind you, but Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders were such that Nintendo had problems in different parts of the world at first. Gradually, more units have been released so that as many people as possible can get their hands on them this Thursday, June 5. And being so close to the release date, what one would expect is to be receiving the collection, and that our console is already on its way. However, for some users, this has not been the case.

In social networks like X (formerly Twitter) or Reddit, it has been published that some users are receiving the most feared news, cancelled pre-orders. In several stores, among the most prominent, Walmart, they are being canceled just a few days before the release of the Nintendo Switch 2. This has generated a couple of reactions: from those who are not surprised that there are cancellations of this type to those who feel paranoid that their pre-order will suffer the same fate.

Why did these Nintendo Switch 2 cancellations occur?

One of the reasons behind these cancellations is not that there is a shortage of Switch 2, and they are making arbitrary decisions on whom to take their console from. Some users have mentioned that their orders were cancelled because their banks mistakenly flagged them for fraud, preventing retailers from charging the order.

What to do if my Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order was canceled?

Obviously, if you have already made a pre-sale, what you want is to be able to enjoy the console. If your pre-order has been canceled, the first thing to do is to stay calm. If you have a credit card problem, the best thing to do is first try to solve it so that the retailer can charge you, but you must be quick. A call to the stores can always speed up the process, as it can be in stores like Walmart, Target, or Best Buy; who knows, you may even end up with a reward card.

Another option you can have is to be brave and go to the store on launch day. We know it can be all or nothing, but there are also reports of stores that have received abnormally large stocks of consoles reserved for people who come into the store without pre-orders. Just maybe you should make sure your store is one of the lucky ones and go.
