Tekken 8 will have a new closed beta in October: dates and how to participate

Bandai Namco has announced in a press release the availability of a new closed beta of Tekken 8 for October this year, which will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

When and how to join the Tekken 8 Closed Beta October 2023

The next Tekken 8 Closed Beta will be available on October 20, 2023, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. To sign up, we need to visit this link. On PlayStation and Xbox, you do not need to be a PlayStation Network/Xbox Live subscriber to play.

The specific dates and times of availability for this beta are as follows

  • October 11 at 3:00 AM ET: Registration deadline.
  • October 18 at 3:00 AM ET: Selected players will be notified and provided with codes to redeem.
  • October 20 at 4:00 AM ET: Closed Beta test begins.
  • October 21 from 4:00 AM ET to 7:00 AM ET: Closed Beta Test downtime for server maintenance.
  • October 23rd at 3:00 AM ET: Closed Beta Test ends.

We have from October 20 to 23 to test this new Tekken 8 beta: just over a full weekend to test the next installment of the saga. There will be 19 characters in total:

  2. Kazuya
  3. Jun
  4. Paul
  5. Law
  6. King
  7. Lars
  8. Jack-8
  9. Xiaoyu
  10. Nina
  11. Leroy
  12. Lili
  13. Asuka
  14. Hwoarang
  15. Bryan
  16. Claudio
  17. Azucena (new in this beta)
  18. Raven (new in this beta)
  19. Feng Wei (new in this beta)

As for the stages, there will be six in total:

  1. Urban Square (Sunset)
  2. Yakishima
  3. Rebel Hangar
  4. Sanctum
  5. Arena
  6. Ortiz Farm

In this new test of the game, we can visit the Tekken Fight Lounge lobby, where we can create custom avatars to interact with other players. There are also other areas that we can visit such as Battle Area, Customization Shop, TEKKEN DOJO, and Beach Area. In this last beach area, we can play Tekken Ball, the beach volleyball mini-game from Tekken 3.

Players who have already tested the June beta will be able to play this one by simply updating the downloaded beta.

When will Tekken 8 be released and what platforms will it be available on?

Tekken 8 will be available on January 26, 2024 for PlayStation 5, Xbox X Series X|S, and PC.
