Pokémon World Championships 2024
The 5 items that impressed us most at the Pokémon Center Pop-Up
The Pokémon World Championships are not only about competition, but also about giving Pokémon fans a chance to spend their Pokédollars.
Ahead of the 2024 Pokémon World Championships, the Hawai’i Convention Center is already decorated and ready to welcome thousands of Pokémon fans. And it’s not that the tournament has to start early to have activities going on, but as it does every year, Pokémon is showing why it’s one of the most money-making franchises by opening a pop-up store with hundreds of items that will leave no one indifferent.
This year’s theme took us to the deep sea, but also to the beach, in a place that takes advantage of the Hawaiian theme. Some of the merchandise is also the object of desire for many, as these are items that will only be sold here. Among the wide variety of stuffed animals, TCG items, and T-shirts, we found some that were so unique that they deserve a mention.
1- Inflatable Lapras
Before entering the shop, we were warned that we would see incredible things, but that we would only have them if we had a pool. The mythical figure of Lapras, in the form of an inflatable to rest while floating, is a dream.
2- Hawaiian Shirt
Can you go to Honolulu and not come back without a Hawaiian shirt? One of the most coveted and limited items, this shirt was made in collaboration with the Reyn Spooner brand, which offers a dressy yet fun (and Pokémon-filled) design.
3 - Pokémon Ukulele
Just like the shirt, you can’t go to Honolulu without thinking of a ukulele. Priced at $60, this instrument is not only a nice souvenir of the Pokémon World Championships and Hawaii, but also a piece that proves that everything can be related to Pokémon.
4- Themed Pikachu Statue
One of the elements of each year are the small figures that come to life as the official illustration of the event. On this occasion, the little diver Pikachu comes to life in a small and detailed piece.
5 - Huge Pokémon Statue
Under the name “Mountain of Discovery” (and priced at $229.99), this huge figure presents us with a little piece of the Pokémon world. A mountain with a huge Onyx and featuring Pikachu, Charizard, Geodude, Zubats and other of the pocket monsters is one of the most impressive pieces of the event.
